Mr. Chair, I do think that there's some benefit in terms of having this clarification on the issue. What happens if the committee were to pass the motion, the original motion? Let's say for the sake of argument that the amendment is defeated. You go on to the main motion. Then you report it to the House. Does that automatically then give it the 30 days' extension, or is there a debate that would occur?
The only reason I'm bringing it up is because it's very time sensitive, of course, with the 21st being a key date. Is it just assumed that we're granted the extension? I don't quite understand that.
