Business of Supply  We introduced pension income splitting for seniors. Combined, these measures are saving Canadian families, on average, over $3,400 per year. What would all this mean for over four million Canadian families with kids? Every one of them would benefit. Take for example, a two-earner couple with children aged seven and three.

Consumer Protection  Speaker, as I mentioned before, our government has taken decisive action to put Canadian consumers first. We have cut taxes nearly 180 times, saving Canadian families nearly $3,400. Canadians work hard for their money and every dollar counts, including the money they might use to purchase coffee pods. As I said before, the Competition Bureau is an independent law enforcement agency.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  We heard our minister earlier today in question period talk about the fact that the average Canadian family is now saving close to $3,400 that they would have been spending in taxes had the Liberals continued in power. Canadians can be very thankful that our government is in place and that we have done the kinds of things that make it work for them.

The Economy  Canadians' wealth has increased dramatically, with the median net worth of our families increasing by 45% since this government took office and by almost 80% since 1999. Families benefit by an average of $3,400 in tax cuts, which would be enhanced through the family tax cut that would give low-income families with two young kids $3,800 a year just in the childcare benefit. Why does the NDP vote against these policies to help families?

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  It would be unlike when we have introduced measures that have been very positive for Canadian consumers, which have resulted in taxes coming down for an average family of about $3,400 every year and, again, the Liberals have opposed those measures every step of the way.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  Our government has taken decisive action on putting Canadian consumers first. We have cut taxes nearly 180 times, which is saving Canadian families nearly $3,400 per year on average. Our government has also committed to making it easier for small and medium-size businesses to invest, innovate, grow and create jobs. We are keeping taxes low, freezing EI rates for next year, cutting red tape and returning to balanced budgets.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  Today, the overall tax burden is at its lowest level in over 50 years. An average family of four now pays $3,400 less in taxes as a result of actions taken by our government. That figure does not even include our latest measures to cut taxes for hard-working Canadian families, and our strong action stands in stark contrast to the Liberals and the NDP.

National Health and Fitness Day Act  While this credit would be a targeted measure to help Canadian families lead healthier lives, this Conservative government has taken numerous other measures: reducing taxes over 150 times, and putting $3,400 more into the pockets of Canadians each year due to tax reductions. These are measures which allow Canadians to invest in healthy physical activity for ourselves and our children. As we move close to our new year's resolutions, I urge moms and dads across the nation to allocate these funds toward healthy physical activity, to involve their children, and to claim the tax credit.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  Mr. Speaker, obviously in Ontario, notwithstanding the fact that we have delivered $3,400 for an average family in tax savings, because the Liberal government campaigned hard for it, supported by the federal Liberal leader, the cost of electricity is going up, taxes are going up, and jobs are going down.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  Speaker, what is most important, as I mentioned in my speech, is that the average family of four would pay $3,400 less per year in taxes. What we have introduced with our new tax plan would mean that every single family that has children under the age of 17 would benefit. I am not sure I agree with the comment that we would only be reaching 15%.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  I want to talk a little bit about taxes. The average family of four, under our government, pays $3,400 a year less than when we formed government. We formed government in 2006. Since then, we have administered over 160 tax cuts, and most recently, under economic action plan 2014, we have done some incredible things for families.

Industry committee  I find that question unbelievable. If you look at the statistics, as the minister was saying, we have families with $3,400 to $3,500 more in their pockets today than they had in their pockets when we were first elected. You have 1.2 million people working today who weren't working in July 2009, a vast majority in the private sector, a vast majority full-time.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  Remember that we have removed more than one million low-income Canadians from the tax rolls. The average family of four saves nearly $3,400 this year. A small business earning $500,000 now saves over $28,000 in corporate taxes thanks to our low tax philosophy. It is clear that Canada has become an international success story.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  There have been 180 tax cuts. GST has gone from 7% to 6% to 5% under our watch. A family of four, right now, saves $3,400 per year, money in their pockets. The previous speaker implied that if a dollar did not go to the government, it was not a good dollar. We believe the more dollars that families have in their pockets, the better off they are and the better off we are as a country.

Economic Action Plan 2014 Act, No. 2  We have removed more than one million low-income Canadians from the tax rolls entirely. The average family of four will save nearly $3,400 this year, and a small business with revenues of around $0.5 million now saves over $28,000 in taxes, thanks to our low-tax plan. It is clear that Canada has become an international success story, but Canada is not immune from economic challenges beyond our borders.
