Strengthening Environmental Protection for a Healthier Canada Act  The question he raises is very important, especially when it comes to pipelines. The member must know that Jason Kenney did not invent pipelines. There have been pipelines in Quebec since 1942. Do members know how many kilometres of pipeline there currently are in Quebec? The answer is nearly 2,000.

Citizenship Act  In fact, it was the Conservatives who took away second-generation born abroads' right to pass on their citizenship to their children. It was Jason Kenney who took away that right. If we are going to fix this, would the Conservatives support amendments to fix all the problems of lost Canadians, including the problems that the Conservatives brought about with second-generation born abroad?

Natural Resources committee  You agree with that. I will go even further. I am not trying to insult Jason Kenney, so I will not go there, but I don't think he is a Greenpeace supporter. Three days ago, Mr. Kenney said that oil companies may be taking things a bit too far by asking for a tax credit of 75% of the initial costs of carbon capture projects.

Business of Supply  Speaker, I think if we were to canvass our constituents, taking a look at how the Conservative Party has brought forward this motion today, they would suggest that it has been greatly influenced by the far right. I really and truly believe that. Even the right-wing guru Jason Kenney from the province of Alberta, the one many Conservatives look up to, would not, I think, support this particular motion. It is quite possible that I could be wrong, but what I do know is that Jason Kenney was very critical of elected officials talking with individuals who were participating in the illegal blockades.

Citizenship and Immigration committee  I think that cultural sensitivity is very important. You gave a recommendation earlier about abolishing what Jason Kenney put into place. Any laws or policies that block this need to be removed. We need to treat everybody with equity, fairness, justice. We need to understand that all these people who are coming to Canada—Canada's a land of immigration—only enhance the country, and we need to unite families, not disenfranchise families and communities based on personal biases or the lack of understanding of various cultures.

Citizenship and Immigration committee  I know many applications are passed, but many people come to my office with issues, particularly with regulation 4, which was brought in by then immigration minister Jason Kenney and the Conservatives. I would love to see regulation 4 abolished today, because it asks the couples, number one, to prove that their marriage is genuine. It already presents many difficulties, not only in the Islamic community but also for Sikhs, Hindus and others in India and Pakistan, which I have experienced.

Natural Resources committee  The report by Edmonton Global and Calgary Economic Development talks about the potential of an economy of $61 billion for Alberta, and 171,000 jobs, if the investments are made in clean tech. What we see is Jason Kenney and this government backing them, continuing to support big oil. What do you as an Albertan think of the potential to transform the economy by making a serious investment in clean tech?

Emergencies Act  Why did it take so long for the Prime Minister to act? So-called leaders, like Doug Ford and Jason Kenney, have completely failed their provinces. They have failed to act, they have failed to lead and they have failed to protect their citizens. They have failed to protect jobs and the economy.

Government Business No. 9—Parliamentary Review Committee pursuant to the Emergencies Act  This is the Conservative guru from the Prairies. The Conservative Party members know him as Jason Kenney, the premier. This is what the premier had to say about negotiating with protesters. The premier was asked specifically about one of the leadership candidates, and I cannot say his name, and whether his comments compromised conduct.

Business of Supply  It was to roll over and lift the mandates. To be honest, I hold Jason Kenney to blame for a lot of this.

Business of Supply  Do they want to see our health care system crumble so that they can bring in the two-tiered American-style health care we have seen Jason Kenney and the UCP try to bring to Alberta? We need to use science-based decision-making. We need to listen to experts. We need to see this pandemic as a global pandemic that requires a global solution.

Emergencies Act  As we look at how some other provinces reacted to this, I cannot help but think of the hypocrisy of Alberta's premier Jason Kenney. This is a man who, on February 5, wrote a letter to the federal government asking for help. It was a desperate plea, a cry for help, because the province was not able to handle it on its own.

Emergencies Act  Checks and balances are in place to ensure accountability. I want to express my disagreement with Alberta Premier Jason Kenney's decision to challenge the federal use of the Emergencies Act. On February 5, Alberta's minister of municipal affairs sent a letter to Canada's Minister of Public Safety requesting federal assistance in removing obstructions from a provincial highway.

Emergencies Act  Blocking billions of dollars of trade, putting hundreds of thousands of jobs on the line, and continuing to disrupt the lives of everyday Ontarians cannot continue.” That is why even Jason Kenney's Conservative government acknowledged, in reference to the Coutts blockade, that local and provincial efforts to clear the blockade had failed. In a letter, Ric McIver, Minister of Municipal Affairs, wrote “In order to ensure a return of free movement of people, vehicles and goods and services...we are seeking federal assistance in removing obstructions from the highway.”

Emergencies Act  Madam Speaker, the member said that all the Prime Minister needed to do was to engage in dialogue and we could have come to a peaceful resolution with the occupiers outside while his premier, Jason Kenney, did not engage in dialogue at the Coutts crossing. The premier of Ontario, Doug Ford, did not engage in dialogue. The premier of Manitoba did not engage in dialogue at the blockade there.
