I think it depends on what timeframe we're talking about. Methods of practice in Canada are not that different from those in other places in the world. I think this fact reflects learning as we go. I can't exactly assign a grade to it. It would depend on the exact situation. The early parts of the statement in which we were talking about good health, good hygiene, and nourishment would get an A or an A plus. The more difficult parts of that statement come with innate behaviour as well as states of distress. In those we would have a lower grade, but partly because what we are learning about the animals and their levels of care is changing every day.
We would be on par with other parts of the world certainly with regard to those practices.
