Mr. Chair, Dr. Hutchings has probably a statutory responsibility to raise this matter. If he sees concerns creeping up with respect to the appointments process and the membership of COSEWIC in its exercised functions under SARA, then I think it's completely appropriate. If he hadn't raised this point, I would have asked the questions myself.
