You would have to impose some valuation on providing that service. The ALUS type approach where the landowner has a motivation to provide that habitat financially would be the best incentive to see that happen. It would then become an asset rather than a liability. We do know there are tourist opportunities with habitat that can be accessed by people coming to your farm. That's an important economic opportunity.
