That is very interesting, but equitable legislation is needed that would provide an avenue for action. An election campaign lasts between 35 and 40 days. When those information networks are used to disseminate fake news or fake videos, that can influence Canadians tremendously. We would never have the time in an election campaign to tell people that fake news had been disseminated and that people have been affected. It will come out, but not until after the election. If we are unable to monitor the information and take action when it is fake, why do we have to accept that?
