Professor Sandvig, with regard to regulation, many lay observers, many with concerns about what they read, what they hear about algorithmic use and AI, may feel—and given some of the testimony we've heard, for example, about Cambridge Analytica, about some of the big data-opoly use of AI to affect and direct consumer retail attitudes, social attitudes and so forth, sometimes I feel..... Is there an element of being a little late to put some of the smoke back into the bottle in terms of regulation? Can some of the inappropriate or unethical applications of AI and algorithms to date be reverse regulated?
