I will respond. I think it would be unfair to limit the ability of Canadian companies to access the global economy by using these offshore centres. The idea that these corporations don't pay tax misses the point. The empirical evidence shows that once these corporations generate higher profits in the global economy, this money is paid out to shareholders in Canada, who then pay tax on that income. In addition, head office functions are enhanced in Canada, which generates additional tax revenue.
