I would like to remind my colleague of a little something. In the early 1990s, when Roy Romanow's New Democrats came to power, they had to deal with an operating deficit of some $7 billion, inherited from the Conservative government. In fact, in the 1990s, the NDP government was the first of any government in Canada to balance its budget.
