Second of all, unfortunately, I don't think Mr. Dusseault's amendments would completely fix the problem, which we all recognize exists. In some provinces, charges are laid against both parties in situations involving domestic violence. Initially, the members of the couple point the finger at one another. Later, the preponderance of evidence allows the court to determine which party is the true victim of violence and to dismiss the charges against that individual.
