At the same time, we'll also be cannibalizing industries. The automated car is going to threaten the taxi industry, and the automated truck really threatens the trucking industry. These are the backbone industries of places like Brampton East. They provide food for families and new immigrants with good-paying jobs to enable them to put their kids through school.
What do you think the government's role is in balancing innovation and ensuring that there's a transition in society? The rapid pace of innovation also has a disadvantage, which is the fact that certain workers are placed right out of the workforce.
