Professor Bala, following up on a part of what you made reference to, we all know that divorce or separation are stressful times for Canadian families. I understand that one of the benefits of the unified family courts is that the specialized judges are not only experts on legal questions but also have some training in the emotional and psychological issues that often arise in family law matters, which enable them to support the well-being of family members in a more comprehensive way.
Do you find that the presence of these specialized judges in unified family courts will benefit family law litigants and their families?
