I'm not sure about that. I think the most important thing is that vision is set and the “why” is clearly laid out and understood and agreed upon, as well as who we're doing it for. Is Shared Services in place to create a standard, or are they in place to provide service to departments that are providing programs to Canadians? I think it's the latter. Let's start with that. What do we need to do to get that outcome? Instead of “you will do this, and you will do that”, we should be asking what we need to do to get the outcome. Let the team come back and say what they need, and then clear the path.
It's really a reversal, which is why this mindset thing is what agile really is. It's changing the way you think. It's not something you buy down at the store. You know, I'm nervous about it coming out and being misinterpreted.
