Mr. Chair, if I may, that's an interesting question. In fact, as part of the release of the report of Federal/Provincial/Territorial Ministerial Task Force on the National Pharmaceuticals Strategy in September 2006, it was noted that we would be expanding the CDR to new indications for old drugs. The deputy ministers of the provinces, territories, and the federal government, who are the owners of this, reviewed the situation in December and directed that the expansion should occur. Preliminary budget estimates were considered.
The long and short of this is that it was significantly in advance of this committee giving consideration to the CDR process.
