Okay, so your sexual orientation is about who you are and who you're attracted to. If I'm a guy and I am attracted to guys exclusively, then I can identify myself as a gay man—even though I was assigned female at birth. I'm trans, and that means I'm not the same gender as the one my mom picked out for me. She was wrong, sorry. I happen to be exclusively attracted to men, so I'm a gay trans man. Does that kind of make sense?
