I've been very interested in the use of antibiotics in agriculture. We know that there has been use, and in the past overuse, so I'm pleased to see these changes restricting antibiotics to just being under veterinary prescription.
I've been speaking to some representatives from the agriculture industry, and they're referring to a class of substances called “ionophores”. Are you familiar with that term? Apparently they're used to prevent intestinal parasites.
First of all, are these important in humans?
