You have to remember that there are two aspects to this. One is that funding went to large companies. The other aspect was that members of Parliament weren't necessarily accountable for the influence they had in guiding that money to a particular place. We were very concerned about that. I'm still concerned about it. I don't think that members of Parliament should expect to have influence and then not be held accountable.
I can tell you that in my case I've never signed off on funding in my riding, because I was always concerned about exactly that. I was also concerned generally about the idea of subsidizing large companies. We've brought an end to that practice, and it won't continue in the future either.
