I have a suggestion, Mr. Chair.
When the clerk proceeds to draw up the motion as submitted, I would insert the two amendments that we proposed after “Canada”. The motion in French would therefore read: “[...] élabore dès maintenant un plan d'élimination de la pauvreté au Canada devant tenir compte [...] instead of “compte tenu”. According to Mr. Kormanicki's wording, it was important to take into consideration the report that we would be producing. However, in French “compte tenu” means something quite different.
So then, immediately after “Canada”, it would make more sense to insert “devant tenir compte des recommendations du comité et aussi des juridictions des provinces”.
