It's not the same as in the private sector because the people who pay are not at the table. I understand that elected officials and the people who work for them are representative of them, but it is not the same thing when the taxpayer's pocket can be reached into through deficits and debts to a great extent. The data suggests that there's been a significant increase in the number of days, while the divergence between the private sector and the public sector began in 1995 and it has continued to present. It's attributed to different demographics of the workplace, but what I'm not hearing and what I'm not seeing, as a citizen and as a taxpayer, is the research and the effort to solve it.
