I think there has to be some kind of support for the employer. I had 92 staff when I was in the private sector. It's all about knowing what's going to happen if you hire someone who has an episodic disability, for example, knowing that you can get a tax credit, because it's going to cost. It always costs employers something. They need to know there's a program out there, so that they're going look at this and say, “It's okay. We can hire people with episodic disabilities.”
I think most people applying for a job don't list their disabilities, because they won't get the job. If employers know there's a program out there that supports them, whether it's a tax credit or whatever it may be.... But we have to ensure that people with episodic disabilities, or disabilities in general, are not turned away.
