That is, if a person who has been with me eight years--and it's usually not more than 10 years--is not renewed, and I get a new person, it takes roughly six months of full-time training, mentoring, and observation to get the person ready to start making decisions on their own. In the first year, when you have a member who has eight years' experience, and someone who starts new, there's a considerable drop.
