Madam, in the government system of Vietnam there is no separation of powers between the judiciary, the executive, and the legislative organizations. All the judges are appointed by resolution of the party, and when they are to preside over a trial, normally the conviction and the sentence already have been made before they preside over the trial, and all they have to do is read it out and be done with it. They don't even listen to the arguments of the lawyers. As a result, many people have been wrongfully sentenced and we can do nothing about that at all.
