I didn't say it, actually, but I will say it now. The treaty is useless from that point of view, because Mexico has two faces. One face is turned to the outside world, and the other is turned to Mexicans. Mexico likes to pretend that everything is great as long as it's talking to outsiders, but that's not really the case. There is no equality. There's not even wage equity, because there's a lack of political desire to enforce that. The government hasn't had the will to defend the rights of communities and especially women in Mexico.
That's why I was saying that we really need to ensure that these negotiations, both the current and future ones, must take the time to discuss the rights of women. We need to take action.
