In the March 2023 budget, the government announced its intention to introduce legislation by 2024 to eliminate forced labour in Canadian supply chains and to strengthen the import ban on goods produced by forced labour. At the end of the last session, the committee adopted a motion to that effect and sent a letter to the minister reminding her of her government's commitment.
It's now June 2024. Where do things stand in that respect?
