I call the meeting to order.
Good morning. Welcome, everyone, to the defence committee this morning. With us from Ukraine is member of Parliament Artur Gerasimov, chair of the subcommittee on military-industrial and military-technical co-operation; Yurii Levchenko, chair of the subcommittee on assessment of bills; and, of course, their military attaché.
Gentlemen, as you are aware and the members are aware, and for the record, this committee did a report on the crisis in Ukraine. We talked about Russian aggression, Russian occupation, and the unacceptable and illegal behaviour of Russia. We tabled a report in December, of which I know you are aware.
It's a pleasure to have you today to give us an update on the situation in Ukraine, because this committee and the Government of Canada care very much about the success of Ukraine, and we appreciate your giving us the time to let us know what's going on.
With that, I'd like to give you the floor.
