You probably heard the news about the Oshawa General Motors plant closing. I had a conversation with the president about that. He said that he pays about $60 million per year for hydro. That's 75% more than he pays for his power in Texas. For a business, that is a massive amount of savings.
Had they decided that this market was competitive, I would assume General Motors would be saying, “Let's move down this path quickly,” or the price to do that would be so disproportionate that they might say, “Ontario's not a competitive place to do business.”
