Acting Assistant Deputy Minister, Data and Digital Policy, Treasury Board Secretariat

Adam Hatfield

Thank you for the question.

I'm not in a position to speak to the specifics of this particular case. What I can say is that an estimated over 200,000 security screenings are done every year. The vast majority of those individuals prove themselves, day in and day out, to be reliable and loyal public servants.

I'm afraid I can't speak to the specifics of this particular case.

Claude DeBellefeuille Bloc Beauharnois—Salaberry—Soulanges—Huntingdon, QC

Okay.

I have no further questions.

The Chair Liberal Jean-Yves Duclos

That's great.

I would like to thank the senior officials for taking the time to prepare for this meeting and for attending.

Of course, I'd like to thank the technicians.

Before you leave, colleagues, I'll give you a brief overview of what's coming up.

On Wednesday, October 7, two days from now, we'll have another meeting on this topic. There will be no meeting next Monday or on Wednesday, October 14.

On Monday, October 19, we will consider two reports. The first concerns what is known as the H2O highway corridor, the St. Lawrence River. The second report, which we will consider for the first time, concerns foreign nationals.

This Wednesday, we will hold a third meeting on today's topic of Canada's security screening processes. The week after that, we may have some good news for Mr. Lloyd and his bill.

I know that MP Lloyd is working very hard with the clerk and the analysts. We look forward to the possible consideration of his private member's bill the week after.

Thank you. Have a great day.

The meeting is adjourned.
