This government's biggest infrastructure project in Canadian history involves transporting oil for export, and I think you can see that this is also reflected in public policies.
We have a brief from Joël Bêty and Dominique Berteaux, the Canada research chair in northern biodiversity at the Université du Québec à Rimouski. They told us that the majority of research funding programs support short-term projects that focus on novelty, which limits opportunities to implement new long-term follow-up programs.
