The collection of that data is very important particularly for complainants because complainants often come to the conciliation or ADR process with absolutely no idea of what to expect, of how much financial compensation to seek, or what other non-financial settlement outcomes might be possible. It is in order to inform the perspectives of both complainants and respondents, but particularly complainants, because they often have less power in the processes that ensue.
