We discussed the issue of culturally responsive policing. You are correct when you say that there are many times when women and, I would say more broadly, indigenous people do not trust the police. For this reason, the federal government has embarked upon the co-development of federal legislation to establish first nations police forces and first nations policing as an essential service. That supports culturally responsive, community-driven policing in those communities. It is work that is under way. We are working with the Assembly of First Nations. We have just completed our round of engagement, and we will be publishing a “what we heard” report.
