In France, for the official commemorations by the Government of Canada on the 80th anniversary of D-Day, there were no prayers said by the military chaplains present. Now, at other ceremonies that were held by our allies or by other organizations, there were in fact prayers said.
Can you tell me why that was the case? Why were there no prayers said by the military chaplains at these ceremonies put on by the Government of Canada?
