Mr. Speaker, since the federal government made known its intention to invade the securities sector, a sector under provincial jurisdiction, the Bloc Quebecois has strongly opposed Ottawa's centralist ambitions. This morning, the National Assembly unanimously confirmed that it too intends to stop the federal government from going ahead with the Canadian Securities Commission.
My question is for the Minister of Finance. Will the government undertake immediately to respect the unanimous wish of the National Assembly and unconditionally drop its plans for a Canadian Securities Commission?
