I received six applications for emergency debates for this evening. Two of them have been withdrawn by the unanimous consent of the House, namely the applications made by the member for Pictou—Antigonish—Guysborough and the member for Delta—South Richmond.
That leaves me to deal with four others. I would ask the hon. members, as I call upon them, to state their case for an emergency debate in a very concise fashion. I would first call on the hon. member for Palliser.
