Mr. Speaker, I thank my colleagues for their remarks of support. I celebrate the Canadians who are every day fighting this disease in their personal lives, the researchers who are fighting for an ultimate cure, and the volunteers who are already making June leukemia awareness month.
There are many heroes in this regard. There are some in terms of the Leukemia Research Fund of Canada which has now developed a fantastic website at www.leukemia.ca. In another medium, Peter Kent and Ken Ryan of Global Television did those fabulous personal spots.
I cannot close this debate without thinking again of my friend and my husband's best friend, Phillip Borsos, the gifted filmmaker, who as a passionate Canadian insisted on excellence and would never settle for less. I do not think any of us in this Chamber will settle until we have a cure for this dreaded disease. I thank everyone who supports us in this regard.
