Mr. Speaker, CSL International is saving $100 million in taxes because its headquarters are in Barbados. The Minister of Finance, acting as the duty fire officer, tells us that no, his boss did not fiddle with the rules for personal gain. On the other hand, the Prime Minister blithely informs us that his company had no other choice but to take advantage of a tax haven in order to be profitable.
Let us get things straight here. Is the Prime Minister telling Canadians that, had he paid taxes here like all the rest of us do, the 30% profit he apparently made would not have been enough?
