The CEO is appointed by the government, just as senators are appointed by the government, and we can see what happens there. We just have to look at the legislation on climate change.
I would say to my colleague that we are not advocating just for the postal workers today, but for every worker. The fact is that the government is trying to instill something, and it has indeed picked sides. If it had not, it would have asked Canada Post why it does not allow the postal workers to continue negotiating with the collective agreement they said they were willing to continue with. Instead the government said it would allow Canada Post to lock the workers out and would then force them back to work.
The postal workers want to go back to work, but you have locked them out.
