Mr. Speaker, the department was able to stop half a billion dollars in ineligible payments last year. However, the employment insurance program still lost hundreds of millions of dollars due to fraud.
If the opposition stops us from rooting out EI fraud, the only people who will lose are Canadians who follow the rules.
