We can see that from how quickly Canadians mobilized against the Conservatives' online snooping bill, yet new documents now show that public agencies such as the CBSA are already getting warrantless access to individual customer data from cellphone companies. We now know this regularly includes information about personal identity and addresses.
Would the government tell us how many of its departments are being asked to spy on law-abiding Canadians without obtaining a warrant?
