Mr. Speaker, the free trade agreement with Europe is important to Quebec. Our role is to be the bridge between North America and Europe. However, the government's intransigence is standing in the way. Now the Walloons are worried about certain provisions of the agreement that could allow multinationals to impede the sovereignty of states. Those fears warrant further attention.
Instead of slamming the door, could the Minister of International Trade not remain open and continue the negotiations until a deal can be reached?
