Madam Speaker, the risk that Canadians will be stopped at the U.S. border and asked for their social media passwords is growing. These invasions of privacy are intimidating, and there are serious consequences for refusing to co-operate: interrogation, detention, and refusal of entry. Searching people's computers or cell phones is much more intrusive than searching their luggage.
Will the minister finally stand up to protect Canadians' rights here and at the border?
