Interim EstimatesGovernment Orders
Joël Godin Conservative Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier, QC
Mr. Speaker, we know that this is an onerous exercise for parliamentarians. No one on the opposition side is sleeping, but members on the government side are sleeping.
Could the people who are sleeping be asked to leave the House, please?
It is a matter of respect. We are staying awake. This government is forcing us to stay awake all night, so I would like to see those who are sleeping leave the chamber.
Brian Masse NDP Windsor West, ON
Mr. Speaker, Rob Anders is not here, and he was the largest sleeper in the House of Commons.
Interim EstimatesGovernment Orders
The Deputy Speaker Bruce Stanton
I appreciate the interventions by the hon. member for Windsor West and the member for Portneuf—Jacques-Cartier. Members will know, of course, that this is a public place, and members are free to use their time in the House at their seats as they wish. If they wish to participate in votes, or if they wish not to, that is absolutely their choice, but it is not for other members to decide, except in the course of these decisions that are rendered, how they should comport themselves in the House, aside, of course, from the use of unparliamentary language. I do not see anything unparliamentary in particular on this point of order. We will carry, on and I thank the hon. members.
