Mr. Speaker, on a point of order, I thought I would bring to the attention of the House that on the clerk's table, the calendar shows that today is June 14. It is the custom in this place that the day is not changed until the House adjourns for the day.
However, everywhere throughout the world outside these walls, today is June 15, and it was on this day, 803 years ago, that the people of England forced King John to sign the Magna Carta, which wrested control away from the king and onto the British people, especially when it came to the issue of taxation, establishing the principle that the governed need to grant consent for taxes.
I was wondering if, on this auspicious day, the Prime Minister would end this carbon tax cover-up by agreeing to table the documents that contain the information as to how much his carbon tax will cost the Canadian people.
