Madam Speaker, I realize there has been some confusion. Earlier, I moved a motion asking for us to bundle up the motions and vote on them all as one and get that done before three o'clock. In exchange for that, the condition that the Conservative opposition would require is that all of the players in the SNC-Lavalin scandal be asked to appear under oath at the ethics committee without restriction, but I failed to specify. I had mentioned that I wanted the former Treasury Board president to appear before the committee. The problem is, which one. A lot of members were asking me which one I was trying to invite, because there are numerous among them. I am referring to the member for Markham—Stouffville.
Now that we have specified whom we have asked to come and appear—and it was a fair question for my colleagues across the way to ask, I know we all want to bring this voting to an end so we can move on to other things. Therefore, I ask that you, Madam Speaker, put forward a motion for those witnesses to appear before the ethics committee without restriction, in exchange for which we will bundle all the motions and have this voting done by 3 p.m.
