Madam Speaker, I rise on a point of order. It is now 5:30 in the morning. Members of the government are absolutely exhausted. They are ornery, they are angry, they are losing control of themselves and they have been begging for an end to this.
I believe there is an opportunity for a compromise here that can allow us to bring this marathon voting to an end. I ask for the unanimous consent of the House for the following motion: That members on all sides of the House of Commons agree that all witnesses implicated in the SNC-Lavalin scandal be invited to testify at the ethics committee, including the Prime Minister, the former attorney general, the former president of the Treasury board, and that in that spirit, members come together to agree to an expedited consideration of the votes before us so members may put an end to this marathon.
This is a reasonable compromise that offers something to everyone. It is very simple. We will let the Liberals sleep when they let her speak.
