Mr. Speaker, the truth is that the house was in order when they came to power four and a half years ago. They had a budget surplus, the best debt-to-GDP ration of all G7 countries and the best economic growth. That is the triple crown of sound management of public funds. It is the hallmark of the Conservative government.
The Liberals racked up deficit after deficit. Today, there is no more flexibility.
Why did they choose to spend instead of save at a time of global economic growth?
