Mr. Speaker, I will first say that I am glad to hear there is support from the NDP for this pipeline. I would like to have seen the same kind of support for a line that would have unified this country and gone across this country like the energy east pipeline. That would have been nice to see as well. It is unfortunate that some in this country do not understand the importance that project could have had.
Having said that, I firmly believe that had we had a Conservative government and the prime ministership of the Leader of the Opposition, we could have seen this problem resolved. We would not be standing here with six days to go asking why we did not do something. I know that had we had the Leader of the Opposition serving as the prime minister of this country, we would have got the job done, because we understand how vitally important this line is to the future.
