Madam Speaker, I thank my hon. colleague from Calgary Nose Hill for her speech. She told us a lot about how cryptocurrencies create such great opportunities.
Peter Callaghan, commander of the Toronto Police Service's financial crimes unit, said, “Cryptocurrency in general is a problem for us, and we realized early on that it was a money laundering tool that could facilitate criminal transactions such the sale of drugs and guns. That is exactly what criminals are doing.”
My question is simple: Is that what the member for Calgary Nose Hill meant when she was talking about great opportunities?
