Mr. Speaker, the hon. member may recall that in both cases, those labour disputes were protracted. They began to impact all Canadians in a way that was harming the economy and harming Canadians, their prosperity and their unfettered access to the services and goods they needed. However, I will stress what the member for Mississauga EastâCooksville said to the same hon. member, which is that the legislation we are presenting today is not about picking sides. It is about working together.
This spirit of togetherness is going to keep people at the table. As we all know, the table is where the best work gets done.
