Madam Speaker, that was a very leading question. I think it is important to note that the criteria and guidelines for medical assistance in dying for people suffering from a mental illness are very clear. I co-chaired the committee that looked at MAID for a year and a half. It was a joint committee with the Senate. We heard so many witnesses who told us that there is a very clear distinction between somebody who is going through momentary suicidal ideation because something happened in their lives, and somebody who has a mental illness. Again, the Supreme Court said that it is very important for specialists to decide whether a person has a mental illness or whether they are just going through suicidal ideation.
